Cherry ‘n Chard Smoothie

Woody, creamy, fresh, buttery, sweet and dreaaaaamy, this is a great green-smoothie treat for just a cheerful, happy calmness.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Swiss chard leaves with stems, rinsed***
  • 1/2 cup black cherries, stems removed***
  • 1 cup unsweetened cashew milk (can substitute nut milk of your choice)
    • ***Tip: for a SUPER thick smoothie for a hotter day, try freezing your chard and cherries overnight before blending.

Special equipment: high-speed blender

Yields: 1 serving
Prep time: 10 minutes

Preparation:

  1. Chop Swiss chard into coarse pieces; remove the pits from the black cherries and place the cherries and chard together into blending cup.
  2. Add cashew milk and blend on high speed until fully pureed. Pour into your preferred drinking cup, and enjoy!!

This drink celebrates the chards and the cherries!!!!!! 😀 Seriously, I don’t think I’ve heard of this exact combination for a smoothie JUST being celebrated as sweet enough– i.e. no additional bananas, syrups, or sweeteners needed, for instance– and creamy enough as is– i.e. once you’ve got your nut milk, you don’t also need protein powder, avocado, or a bunch of other ingredients to add girth!
