Blueberry Lavender Tea (And Optional Compote!)

Simple, light, refreshing, and contemplative.

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 tsp dried lavender
  • 2 cups water

Special equipment: tea infuser / tea strainer ball, large strainer spoon

Prep time: 15 minutes
Yields: 1-2 servings

  1. Place dried lavender securely in the tea infuser/strainer ball. Place the infuser directly into a small sauce pan and add the blueberries and water around it.
  2. Bring the ingredients to a boil for 10 minutes, until blueberries are soft and bubbling.
  3. Using a large strainer spoon, remove the blueberries and tea infuser. Optional: place the blueberries and steeped lavender in a small bowl and mash together with a fork to make a fresh floral compote.
  4. Pour the remaining tea into a cup and enjoy; optionally with your favorite cookies on the side and blueberry-lavender compote.

Yasmine’s notes:

I had a very calming and refreshing breakfast indeed with this tea, the berry compote, and some of my leftover Rosemary and Sage Black Sesame Digestives. I happily recommend them for dunking right into your tea!
